TIM & SHANNA

This blog is simply a way for us to reach out and encourage others.  We blog about our faith, our family and the freedom we have in Christ, so we hope you will journey with us.

A fuller story of our lives will likely present itself through our blog posts, but here is the short story:

Boy meets girl at a Christian University in Tennessee and they get married in 1998.  Shanna was an elementary school teacher and Tim a youth minister.  Our daughter was born in 2001 and then we endured a 5 year wait for God to give us a son in 2006. 

Fast forward to 2014: after 16 years in full time youth ministry, we took a break, a long sabatical.  We were very stressed, confused, and wondered what diretion God wanted us to go... all those things and more.  But now we know, God gave us a season of rest and spiritual renewal.  He moved us from where we were to show us the freedom and love that we have now.   And here we are... better than we were before, healthier, full but still hungry, allowing God to work in us and lead us.

So, we spent about a year resting from our full time ministry days.  Then God obviously decided it was time to put us to work!  We began by serving in Children's Ministry and were soon asked to lead the Single Adult Ministry and help start a new Marriage Ministry at The River Community Church.  Our Spirits were renewed as we allowed God to use us once again. 

Now, in the middle of 2016, God's story in our lives continues as we move our family to Cincinnati and Shanna serves as the Children's Minister at Parkside Christian Church.  We are so excited about serving with the Parkside family and look forward to making Cincy our home!
